Magic? (Harry Potter Fan Fiction: Years 1-5)
Amisty River is a young orphan living on the streets. She always thought she was normal, but she was mistaken. Now she's partaking in a new type of adventure, one that has to do with magic and a new world.
"My name's Harry Potter," he held out his hand for her to shake,
"Amisty River," She whispered quietly, briefly shaking his hand.
"I'm sure you might want to get going, my uncle isn't the nicest person around," Harry told her.
"You don't mind that I took some food?" she asked, bewildered. She would think that finding a stranger in your home would warrant a more extreme reaction rather than this.
Harry shook his head, "I think my cousin needs to lose a few pounds. A few missing cookies may do him some good," he grinned. Amisty smiled back, before hesitantly heading toward the window again,
"See you again sometime?" Harry asked, his voice coming from behind her,
"Uh... sure," She was shocked, until realizing she may have just met her first friend.
"Calm down, we don't want you to be expelled for trying to strangle me, would you? How awful would that look on your record? Once a street rat, always a street rat, I suppose." He shot back, a malicious glint in his eyes. "No one would miss you anyways, would they. Your only friends are Potter and Weasley, and they haven't even come to find you."
"Don't you dare, Malfoy," She growled lowly, almost shaking with the level of fury she was feeling.
"I see were on last name basis, are we? Shame I don't know yours..." A shadow of a smirk flitted across his face. "If you even have one."
