"What?" a cold voice answered devoid of any emotion.
"Caden, hi. Sorry to interrupt you" I murmured sweetly with all practice. Sweetness before wasn't my thing. And from the time when I had met him I just wanted him to warm up to me.
"You should be." he bellowed and a scraping of chair sounded on the background then some footsteps.
Silence followed and I realized he was waiting for me to talk.
"Um... I was thinking, maybe I should see you again tonight? I figured that I have nothing else to do and maybe we could hangout. If that's okay?" I explained nervously gripping the ends of my dress and breathing heavily.
Seconds passed and he responded "Fine."
Smiling happily I heaved a sigh. "See you later, babe... I miss you" adding the last part timidly I closed my eyes waiting for him to say those words back. A deep chuckle sounded on the other side and I cringed.
"Don't flatter yourself, girl. I will certainly not miss a girl who keeps on throwing herself at me no matter how many times I'd rejected her. But who knows?" his tone ranged from livid into disgusted and into sarcastic. His words cut deep and before I could even respond he ended the call.
