Black Rose (Rose Kisses #1)
"Why are you so afraid of me?" he whispered, caressing my cheek. I pushed his hands away and moved back, annoyed with his actions and terrified of how he made feel.
"I'm not afraid of you," I replied haughtily.
He quirked an amused brow, "Oh really?"
"Yes," I snapped. "I could never be afraid of someone like you."
He chuckled and step forward, forcing me to take a step back. I hated being close to him. I didn't like the things he made me feel and how easily I lost track of my job. I didn't want to be any more closer to him than I needed to be.
"Alright then," he smiled and boy, if it didn't make my stomach flutter with butterflies. "Prove it."
I gave him a dry look. For someone who held such a high status in society, he had the mind of a two year old. He was so childish, it was honestly infuriating.
"And do you suppose I do that?" I humored him. He gave a secretive smile and took another step forward. He was but a breath away now, our noses just barely brushing. His eyes were like thunderstorms with lightening strikes across his irises. He had the ability to destroy me completely and I found myself not minding the idea one bit. In fact, I found myself rather enjoying the notion.
[SUMMARY IN BOOK. This book starts off very slow and poorly written so bear with me people, I'm still learning.]
