The Hijab Question.
Layla. That's my name. And my religion? Well, it's Islam.
You see, being a practising Muslimah was tasking, because in every aspect of my life, I had to prove my stance. In fact, it'd become my anthem, and it goes thus; Hijab covers my head, and not my brain.
I'd picked up the line one evening, when I was surfing through the net, and it felt like a huge relief, because as little as the statement seemed, it was literally my backbone - keeping me positive all the way.
It was my final year at Lincoln's high, which meant more drama in stock for me- being the only girl on hijab in the whole school, wasn't as comforting as it sounded- and though, there were some 'non-muslim' friends of mine who accepted me for who I was, and would get a thousand punches just to save my skin, it still wasn't enough for me.
Things would really get out of hand, even up to the point where I wouldn't have the slightest interest in putting my hijab on anymore.
Oh well, let's just see how it all goes..
