Does the story need to have this "final choice"? 'cuz what if the protagonist never fixed his/her flaw in the end? Or is that even possible?

I have a question.
What if there are 2 protagonists and one of their flaws is being very selfless and would do anything for their loved ones happiness, but the other protagonist is completely the opposite. So, would their strengths be becoming selfless and selfish?
Thank you so much for making this book 💙 I learned a lot ☺ godbless
Got that checked (if yall like Markhyuck I have a story coming out soon trololo #shameless)
