Chelsea is a pre-school teacher and her husband David is a police officer. They live a pretty normal life in the suburbs of Alabama in a small town called Easton. They have one child together that is their world. Together these two have already overcome some obstacles strictly because they are in an interracial relationship. David is white and Chelsea is black. Their families have never supported their union but that doesn't stop them from beating the odds constantly stacked against them.
When a routine burglary stop ends in death David finds himself not only on the opposite side of the law but in an age old battle of the races.
