The chair fell from beneath me and the glass toppled and spilled on the table as I was hoisted backwards. I could see Sunil, just outside the tiny window of the front entrance, pacing back and forth on the phone. My heart thumped against my ribs as I tried as hard as I could to kick and fight whoever it was holding me from behind, dragging me back towards the counter, into the back room. Biting down as hard as I could on his fingers, he shouted, letting go just long enough for me to scream, "Sunil!"

"Divya!" I could hear him coming for me, something crashing out in the store as he continued to call my name. - I'm coming! - Was there someone else outside with him? Fighting him? My chest felt like it was about to explode from the pressure on my windpipe, barely allowing me to breathe. I couldn't help but choke and cough, my head still dizzy as he dragged me out the back door and into the adjoining alleyway.

"Saala kuttiya (stupid bitch)..." he mumbled behind me, dragging me forcefully. In a moment of desperation I gathered whatever wits I had left. Remembering what Papa had taught me, I jammed my heel into his shin hard enough for him to stumble backwards. Spinning around, I shoved him as hard as I could, hitting his head on a stray brick sticking out of the wall behind him, and knocking him out cold. He didn't move a muscle as gravity slowly brought him to the ground.

"Sunil!" I screamed again, turning back to the store.

"Divya, no!" As I stepped inside the back room, a gun went off and I hit the ground, covering my head and body as best I could. I'd never heard the sound of a gunshot, but I knew exactly what is was as soon as it went off, the sound echoing off my heart I swear.

This looks super interesting! Can't wait to read it :) Btw, the trailer is superb.
I loved this trailer. So sweet. I love these two as a couple. Their movie together was great. I have actually read three of so chapters ahead before posting. You are a very good writer. You have stolen planned moments from my life, and I give them to this story now. Thank you.
Wow! I just totally loved it! It looked like a movie trailer
Nice!
