Freedom always had a thing for Khari Stanford. Khari always had a thing for Freedom Richardson. It's the reason why their eight-year-old hearts shattered to pieces when he left with his dad to live in the nice suburban areas of Louisiana opposed to her humble abode in an impoverished neighborhood of the city of Baton Rouge. Space, time, and class prohibited them from crossing paths, but finally, they've found themselves in the same vicinity: Anderson Adams Magnet High with one on a scholarship (which they almost lost) and the other's father dishing out money as if it didn't cost a thing. Unfortunately, things don't go as Freedom thought. His Capricornian nature, along with the assistance of his father, forced him to focus on one thing and one thing only: his grades. Much to her dismay, he didn't have time to chase the Lion that was Freedom, although she was mad cute, funny... and everything he hoped she'd be. She wanted for the dreams she had of them to come true but realized they were unrealistic at best. At least she'd get to keep them in the musings of her mind... but, if she's lucky, she'll be able to set them free.

At first I was thinking that Free was a teenager, but now I'm getting the impression that her and Khari are little kids.

That's how I used to be when I'm not in the same class with all of my friends. But it was better when I switched classes.
