Ronnie feels as if she doesn't have a family. Ever since she was a child, she's been tossed from foster home to foster home. In every one of them, her foster family doesn't seem to really accept her and she just can't seem to accept them. To her, the possibility of ever being close to someone again seems impossible. Asher is living a fake life. Ever since he was nine years old and found his adoption certificate in his "father's" office, he's been pretending to be his "parent's" son. Nevertheless, he's been dying to tell them forever that he knows that they aren't his real mother and father. As they move from town to town, he realizes that it may be too late to tell them the truth. Avery feels insecure. Ever since the people he used to consider parents announced that he was adopted, he's been feeling nothing but distant and betrayed whenever they're around. However, he only sticks around for the angelic six year old girl that he still considers his little sister: Hartlyn. Three teenagers that have nothing in common besides the fact that they're all adopted meet in one high school. And now... they seem to be closer than ever.
