Valentine's Day € Lashton
Luke spends his whole life giving roses to the same boy.
In 1912 the suicide rate in Australia peaked at twenty-seven percent of the population. With fifty-eight percent of the suicides being women, and the other forty-two percent being men. The government decided they needed to take action, so on February 14th, 1913 they sent a rose to every person who was four and older. They also sent instructions on what to do with the rose. Every person who received a rose from the government had to give it to someone even if they did not receive a rose back. Many years of this passed until experiments on the roses occurred in the 1970's. The scientists changed the roses, so if you gave it to someone you marry, it will never die. Their experiments worked, but only on two people who were both at least twelve years of age.
