Aaija Heaton made a promise to her best friend Christopher Brown, in the seventh grade. That she would always be there for him, whenever he needed her. Whether she was around or not. But end of their eighth grade year, Aaija moves away to California. What happens when she breaks that promise made to Chris? That leaves him questioning if their friendship was even real from the start, and trust issues dwelling on one promise made, that was broken.
