The Canvas Restorer's Commitment (m/m)
With a well-stocked beer fridge, endless pizza and eighteen channels of sport, what more could any bloke possibly want from life..? Well, according to Ryan's flatmate Jake, the answer to that question is: a baby.
Jake Taberner is a man on a mission. Despite a rough start, he's determined to make a success of his career with Greater Manchester Police. As a psychic, he pinpoints the precise locations of bodies buried in ecologically-sensitive areas, thereby negating the requirement for random trenching. At almost twenty-seven, he's on top of his game and is only four weeks away from achieving his dream of becoming a father. He knows that lone-parenting is a bold move, but isn't about to allow his blindness to interfere with the challenges of bringing up a baby alone. Not that 'alone' was quite how he'd planned it, but since his best friend and flatmate of five years had not been best pleased by the news, he now doesn't have much choice other than to start over by himself.
Ryan Shale is a detective in the doldrums. The realisation that the lazy Sunday brunches and boozy poker nights were about to end, made him see red - and further to a blazing row, Jake walked out. So now, after five whole months of icy silence, the end of their tenancy agreement is looming. How can he possibly put things right, when he's got the stammer from hell working against him every step of the way..?
