The drama llamas #Wattys2017
The drama llamas is the story of a Brazilian girl, Julia, who wants to go to the United States as an exchange student. Actually, the Rio de Janeiro state local wants to go anywhere, as long as it's away. But since her mother won't let her go to Mexico, home of her favorite singer, she decides to go for the "safe option".
What Julia finds in the States goes beyond her wildest dreams (or nighmares). The small town girl who is scared of bugs and hates camping ends up in the Beaver State, Oregon, known for it's green landscapes and outdoorsy people. That is not so bad, but she lands in a farm, with two other exchange students living under the same roof as her. Karin, from Germany, and Saori, from Tsuruta, Japan. That's not the worst part, even when the German girl seems less than friendly.
Thinking she's find maybe dogs and cats, she writes on the form that she wouldn't mind a house with animals. What she gets is a full house, complete with dogs, cats, goats, a rabbit, rats and four llamas!
Now, she has to deal with a host family that seems to collect exchange students, in Old Mc Donalds' farm, and having to complete the senior year, though her English is barely enough to allow her to maintain a conversation. Throw in some chores, cheerleaders and a crush, and you have yourself a drama llama!
