The Sixteenth Sea
Stephen Griffon, a lifetime rider of airplanes, has crash landed. Again. But this time, instead of landing on the nice, soft ground, he has had the misfortune of landing in the cold, hard, but surprisingly forgiving ocean. Luckily, he and his group of survivors have managed to crash near a small tropical island, populated only by crabs and plants.
Soon, they will have to fight for their lives (by fishing and eating salads), brave the harsh weather conditions (there aren't any tsunamis near the west coast), and somehow find rescue (which is a lot closer than they think). But, unknown to them, they will have help from the unlikeliest people and beings: a part-time poet, a strange seal, and the very ocean itself.
An absolutely grim story of survival, punctuated everywhere with humor and non-grim stuff.
