never leave me ☾harmione
A world full of lies. That's what Hermione Granger sees. A world full of ridiculous, unneeded lies.
She had hope that they would win the war. After she went into hiding due to the sheer amount of Death Eaters chasing after her, she lost all contact with all members of the Order, including Harry and Ron. It was easier to live separately, they decided. Easier to forget the pain they'd all gone through, easier to die alone. Because that's just the way war is. People die, and are left alone, and turn away from being sensible. It was easier to deny that they'd lost and turn to the winning side than to fight for what was right.
A world full of problems. That's what Harry Potter sees. A world full of ridiculous, unneeded problems.
Once he let humanity down by losing the war, he lived day to day wallowing in self-pity and misery, thinking of nothing but how horrible he was. Unsurprisingly, his scar seared with pain day and night, just a reminder that he had been ridiculous. Harry lived in a daydream, a fantasy of what could have been. He killed in cold blood, he tortured with pleasure. He, unknowingly, became one of the Dark Lord's biggest assets.
Hermione and Harry were lost. Horribly lost.
Until the day they found each other.
