Love or Life
"Can vampires truly love?" she flinched, searching for the right words. The boy sighed, turning to exit the room. "I guess you are the creatures people assume you are. Heartless creatures who rule the night." his words stung her like a stake going through her heart a million times. A heartless creature... "Just go. If I really am the heartless creature, you assume I am, then just leave me. I cannot change your mind, vampires can be heartless, but not all of them." she stared at the ground, shedding a single tear. The human boy turned around and saw the tear fall to the ground, "I... Evelyn... I didn't mean it. I'm sorry..." she just put her hand out in front of her, signaling him to leave. Then she turned and crossed her arms. "Just go. I'm a so called heartless creature. I never loved you, you were just my plaything." she turned her head to look over her shoulder. "Isn't that what you believe?" He stared at the ground, then looked up a bit to see her shedding more tears each moment he was in the room. "I'm sorry..." he said, leaving the room, hoping that seeing him leave would heal her heart. "I should never have said those things." He told himself, regretfully, closing the door behind him. He started down the hallway, then stopped. He sighed and walked back to her room. When he walked in, he found her sitting on her bed, looking at photos of them together. She turned her head and screamed at him. "Go! I don't want to see you ever again!" She cried harder with each word she said, knowing deep down that she didn't mean it. "Evelyn, please, oh please forgive me. I'm sorry, I should never have told you that..."
