I take a large gulp of water from my water bottle before turning to Jay, one of my best friends. "Are you booked yet?"
He looks up from his phone,"What? Oh,yeah, I have practice after this for it. You should tag along, it'll be fun."
"Ugh, lucky. I haven't been booked for anything in ages."
Jay grins,"Hey, someone'll want you soon. You used to have gigs like every weekend."
"Eh, I guess so. But it's like no one wants female dancers anymore."
"Well, I guess that's partially true. Guy dancers are a lot more popular in this area." He shrugs,"But anyway, don't worry about it, Y/N. At least you don't have practice as much now, and you have a ton of free spaces instead of rehearsals."
"Yeah." I glance around the studio at the other dancers. All working their asses off as usual. People are either practicing routines or going through steps on pieces of paper. What can I say, we're dedicated to our work here.
"Hey, Y/N, I gotta go and practice. Are you up for coming too?"
"Sure." I grin at Jay ...
