Something like Fire [REWRITING]
Seventeen-year-old Kahlan Anderson is always breaking the rules, not caring what the outcome is. But the one thing she does care about is her uncle and her cousin, Violet. They're all she has left ever since her family was destroyed in a fatal car accident several years ago.
When Kahlan meets Blake, she immediately dislikes him, just like she dislikes everyone else in the world. She learnt a long time ago that letting people in gets you hurt, and Kahlan would rather not experience that kind of pain ever again. Blake's persistent and won't leave her alone, and that's the last thing she wants to deal with.
As Kahlan's world starts crumbling beneath her feet, she begins to realise that she can't keep everything locked up inside forever, that sooner or later she is going to have to trust someone. But who can she trust when she feels like everyone is out to destroy her?
