Family Vacation

It was blisteringly hot, even with the wind gently moving across my cheeks and playing in my hair. The pontoon sailed through the glimmering waves and caused wakes to rock speedboats hundreds of feet away. My brother howled in appreciation as a jet ski threw him a wake that sent him airborne on the tube. 

I leaned heavily on the rear tanning deck of the boat, and smiled. I thoroughly enjoyed watching his eyes light up as my dad opened up the throttle. Next to me, my dad's friend Dave, did the same. Roaring with raucous laughter as my brother popped a wheelie and almost came off the tube. I studied him without his knowledge out of the corner of my eye. 



My sunglasses provided the perfect cover. His hair blew every which way as the wind caught it, and I sighed. The boat jerked and his hand shot out, grabbing for my lower back as we went head-on into a huge wave. I gripped the metal frame keeping up the canopy and giggled. "Sorry folks!
