When the Blaze rips the world in half, leaving millions dead, Callisto Underwood lives. Barely. Yet, she discovers that she has a gift-one she can use to save the people or to finish what the Blaze started.
I remember seeing the snow. The spiraling flurries in the dark, cloudy sky had an odd gray color, but I sprinted outside into the front yard to play in it anyway.
I remember my parents running after me. Yelling my name, telling me to stop. I didn't listen. It seemed completely unnatural for it to be snowing, considering that we live in San Diego; yet, I didn't care. Here, in San Diego, we never get snow. Maybe that's why I was anxious to see it, to feel it. I had never felt the soft, white fluff called snow before. It was a new experience, and I was ecstatic.
It may seem like I am a child, but I'm not. As a matter of fact, I'm eighteen years old.
I remember watching as the giant fireball ripped across the sky, destroying everything in its path. At the time, I thought it was the sun falling towards the earth.
