ᏇᎧᏒᎴᏕ ᏝᎥᏦᏋ ᏇᎥᏁᎴ A Thorin Oakenshield Story "The things we love destroy us every time, lad. Remember that." Fairies are one of the oldest race of beings in Arda. Fair and wise, but quick to anger. They were once guardians of the Pillar of the Heavens on the great island of Númenor. As a sworn guardian the promise taken up to protect the sacred ground was a fairy's life, from the moment they came of age to the day they took their dying breath. An oath made a fairy cannot be broken, for if their word is broken, the fairy will die. When the sea swallowed her home she had not yet taken her vow, she watched on from the helm of a ship as the survivors fled to Middle Earth. She has wandered for several lifetimes, has seen a nearly all there is, has set aside her bow and sword for healing. In truth, a healer's hands see more blood than a warrior's. The Shire is home to a merry race, Hobbits, she learned. Over the years, she had grown to love their ways and there is no hobbit she loves more than Bilbo Baggins. When her visit is interrupted by a band of uncouth dwarves and her dear friend goes running out his door on an adventure what can she do but follow? Having never met a dwarf she will come to know of their nature first hand. Stubborn, poor mannered at times, loyal, kind, caring, and full of unexpected surprises. No one exemplifies those qualities more than their leader, Thorin Oakenshield, King Under the Mountain. This beautiful cover was created by @iuccidero.
