Roll With Me
Jace is one of the biggest Cartel leaders in the country, slowly branching his gangs off into areas of the world. Living in Santa Monica he's trying to keep a lower profile by going by his alias, JR Castro.
Kai (Ky) is a sweet girl from Compton. Not the typical ratchet hoodrat or hoe that usually comes from her neighborhood. She recently moved to Santa Monica to get away from all the violence that was basically happening right on her doorstep.
Originally a target of a bet, Kai is completely oblivious to the motives of Jace. But, there's something about Kai that Jace didn't anticipate. . .he catches feelings for her, but a bet is a bet. He has to drop her after he gets what he wants.
Heartbroken, and angry something slowly changes in Kai. She continues to be her sweet self, reading to the children in the hospital, working in soup kitchens, and holding car-washes and bake sales to raise money to keep the nursing home up and running. But eventually, she just becomes a cold individual to men.
Not just any men, like the homeless men or the elderly but to men who gets in good with girls just to fuck them then leave. Men like Jace.
It takes more than an apology and a bouquet of flowers to get her forgiveness he soon learns. And he soon feels her pain she once let herself endure by being blind and caught in the moment.
A while later, she forgives him and they start their friendship off on the right track. Old feelings resurface. Ice cold hearts melt. Love buds; but not quite blossoms.
How can she trust him? How does she know he will hold her down? Will she let him in only for him to leave again?
