Having awaken in a strange dark place, without any memories, or any recollections, is enough to get any person questioning. Repeatedly being told you're insane, and having lucid drugs shoved down your throat, is quite unbearable, and stressful. Walking around in white gowns, nurses holding and hovering over everyone's shoulders. In the same room with people who hold capabilities of being on the verge of insanity, yet their eyes scream differently.
Newly re-aware of the surroundings, comes with an inclination and a deep burning desire to get out. Putting your trust in other people's hands isn't so easy, whom to trust is way too hard for one person to depict.
The voices in your head, they eventually resurface, and all those years of darkness, unknown drugs, tend to be heavily associated with much more than the loss of a memory.
Escape. It's what everyone else wants: conciously and subconsciously.
