In one night, 98% of Earth's population vanished. A week had passed but the lack of a reaction emphasized humanities near extinction.
A radio announcer in the last known signal unambiguously called it the Great Disappearance.
Anise Powers and her family did not mind it. Their life was more enjoyable with fewer people in it. It was a privilege to be alive but no one cared about privilege anymore.
They wanted to be left alone. They had no desire to find out what happened to humanity.
A right answer was worthless if it was the wrong question.
In a reluctant twist, a group of hermits with no discernible survival skills may be the only ones who can solve the riddle of the Great Disappearance.
First they must decide if their effort would be worth it.

I really like what you have so far! I have never seen the concept before and your characters are very much real from the moment they are introduced. I love the name Kent :)

A very nice way of introducing us to the world of your story as it dives right in, showing us how one person is handling things. You could really feel Anise's anxiousness and self-doubt..as well as her determination to survive anyway.

Looking forward to reading the rest!

I have no helpful advice. Although dystopian fantasy is and has been all the rage these last 5-10 years, what I can say is I'm intrigued. I want to know more about these characters. They ARE different. Not some young, barely legal female. Can't wait to read the next chapter!

I'd argue that Swedish arms are stronger than any other :D in general, I like your writing. The first few paragraphs seduced me to read more. Whatever you do, don't change the beginning! (early thirties, it's somehow accepted to write simple numbers with words)

Amazing, you have a high chance of winning the SciKicm contest, at least in my eyes... (unlike me haha) :D
