"Please, I know that I make you nervous." Ryder taunted, taking three nerve-racking steps towards me. He was getting awfully close, close enough for me to smell his intoxicating cologne, and to see the flecks of brown in his forest green eyes.
For the sake of my mental health I matched his steps with an equal three steps backward; I would've gone further but my back hit the wall with a light thud.
But three steps wasn't enough.
My breath hitched and I was suddenly very aware of how fast my heart was beating and how sallow my breaths were. Just Ryder being within a two-foot radius was enough to turn my brain to mush.
I was dying to say something snarky in return, but I couldn't get a word out to save my life. My tongue felt heavy and was scared that if I opened my mouth to speak nothing but gibberish would come out.
Ryder took one last finale step towards my short frame. My eyes darted down from his eyes to his lips.
If I moved forwards in the slightest, we would be kissing.
Just the thought of that possibly made my heart beat even faster and butterflies dance in my stomach.
"Don't I, Baby doll?"
Meet Elaine Summers. She's sassy, feisty, sarcastic, girly, and couldn't be more innocent. She has her life planned out, that is until a certain Badboy walks into her life and turns it upside down with just a wave of his wand.
Metaphorically of course.
Here's Ryder Adams for you. A player. A heart-breaker. A Badboy. Sleeps with every girl that walks his way and then throws them away like garbage.
He tells everyone how he will never fall in love, but that's before he meets Elaine.
