Love Bug (Completed But Editing)
Stanton Evans. Perhaps your average player.
A family man at heart, yet one who couldn't stand cuddling or getting close to women. His dad leaving at 14, for some unknown reason to them, struck his family hard. Working, going to college, looking after a hormonal teenager of a sister and his mother, who is also a depressed alcoholic, yeah, times are hard, but he still tries to find the sunshine in a cloudy day.
"Love is pointless, it isn't anything but lies. Why have one woman for the rest of your life when you could have the luxury of the amount you wanted?" So-called wise words from his best friend, Ben.
Ben was his relatable friend, the only one left who wasn't struck by the love bug like Ben's twin brother, and their soon to be married best friend Cole. Him and Ben got with girls often, and it was fun and he believed his words to be correct. Believed - past tense.
Because clearly his friend had never met Jessica Hutchinson.
She had been through a lot, he knew she wasn't a happy girl from the day he walked into class to see her sobbing. Every other girl and boy just left her to it, but he felt the need to comfort her, protect her, and make her smile.
At first she was shy; she would be almost silent, she was practically a shell. Of course he got her talking though. It may have took a week, or four, but she did talk to him a little more. That shell slowly broke away and out emerged a little firecracker and the sunshine in those cloudy days. She was a good friend, a really good friend. They teased each other constantly and he slowly but surely made her more confident and happy. Though the more he spent time with her, the more fun he had and, the more he started forgetting all about Ben's words. He didn't care, he'd never do anything to his friend, especially after everything she'd been through.
But with a close knit friendship like theirs, he had to wonder, would he be struck with the love bug too?
