"You're going to be the alpha of the pack?" I asked him and he nodded yes. "Is it like the books? The alpha is super powerful and has special abilities?"
"You might say that," he said chuckling.
"Are you as sought after throughout your pack as the alphas in the books?" I asked. I looked down at my hands. It didn't make sense that he was telling me this... If he was the alpha like he says, then he wouldn't need a human in his life, he would have plenty of women in his pack who wanted to share love and power with him.
"Rose? What do you mean?" he asked as he grabbed my hands. "Look at where we are. Listen to what I'm telling you. I would never have shared this with you if I didn't want to pursue you for the rest of my life. I want to win you over, but first I had to show you why you have such strong feelings for me," he said sweetly as he held my hands softly.
"You're telling me that I feel this because you're a werewolf?" I asked him, but he just looked at me with a smile. "That doesn't even make sense. Christian is a werewolf, and Jake, and all of the other guys I've met here," I said.
"That's true, but you're mine," he said happily with a huge smile as he kissed my hands. I liked the idea of it, but it didn't make sense. He hadn't even asked me to be his girlfriend or anything that would make me his. It felt right, it just seemed crazy to hear him say it out loud with my hands in his and our bodies touching as we stood close together.
"I like that," I blushed a deep red as I admitted it.
"Good because I'm going to need you to get used to it," he said before kissing my cheek, igniting an even brighter red across my cheeks. He examined my face cheerfully and skimmed over my red cheeks with his thumbs as his fingers laid intertwined in my hair.
