I don't think it was a real parson or marriage. There not legally married, is my opinion.

He may not have even been a real parson. He did this to get the land and what money there was and even her mothers things left for her. I don't trust that man.

I have a feeling he has put on a show to make himself look good in front of her father. It doesn't sound good for her.
