The Star Across the Hall (On Hold)
Twenty-four-year-old fantasy writer Cassie Kalb has one month to finish the next book in her hit fantasy series. One month while she's dealing with her first case of writer's block, her first book tour, her first time confronting her fear of public speaking and the first time out of her home state of Kansas. She feels awkward and out-of-place in the luxurious California hotel her publisher has set her up in for the month, and the fact that her favorite fantasy, movie star Keir Ramsey, is staying right across the hall is a distraction she doesn't need. She wants to keep her head down, get her book written and get back to her garage next to the strawberry patch in Kansas.
Twenty-nine-year-old filmstar Keir Ramsey has one month to convince the plain, naive book writer staying across the hall to support him as the lead in the upcoming movies about her books. Without it, his slowly failing career will start on a deep plunge. When the ego and arrogance that got him in trouble in Hollywood make him underestimate what a tough nut the young writer will be to crack, he realizes he will have to try a different technique: kindness. He'll Eliza Doolittle her and help her with her stage fright, pretty her up a bit, give her a little sophistication. And then the head-in-the-clouds writer will be putty in his jaded hands.
