Lydia Nowack's life was riddled with tragedy. From the invasion of Poland, which killed her maternal grandparents, to the beginning of the air raids, which killed her mother, her life was set in stone. Originally, she found solace in fairytales.
Then she had to grow up.
The fairytales in her mind faded; the real life horrors became clearer. The images in her head of places like Wonderland and Neverland became filed away in the back of her mind. But the one fairytale she was never able to truly forget was one her grandmother told her, and the one she fell in love with the most: a fairytale of a land called Narnia.
