Blair Grop, a nine year old girl in 1935 England, undergoes traumatic experiences as she lives out over two years of her childhood in Draywell's Institute for the Sick. Within the mental institution, the young girl discovers more about the paranormal world and more about herself than what she bargained for as well as making new friends including one of which a quiet boy named Apollyon. And when a captured piece is removed from the chess board, what will Apollyon do to get it back?
