You Have Just Entered the Friendzone
Pete is your average 17-year-old junior in high school. He is not especially good at anything, and just wants to get through school so he can move on and do better things. Unfortunately, he also happens to be best friends with the perfect girl who only sees him as a friend. Pete came to terms with this a while ago, but there's still that small part of him that likes her. When his best friend finds out about Pete's suppressed feelings, he tries to get them together by any means necessary. His attempts slowly grow into something that none of them could have ever anticipated.
Check out this satire on young romance and the "high school experience."
Please note that this is a work in progress and I would REALLY love it if you left me some feedback.
One of my goals with this story is to try to show how ridiculous being a teenager in high school is. The idea that someone is expected to act like an adult, but isn't even allowed to stay out past 10 o'clock is strange to me. I want to show how crazy life is, and can be. This is NOT going to be the usual teen story. I want the relationships in this story to have weight. I want everyone to have emotions and feelings that are realistic and repayable. The satirical element of this needs to be read to be understood.
