"Are you dating someone?
"Will you go on a date with me?"
"Ah, come on. Why not?"
"Because I don't want to."
"Yes, seriously. I don't like you. Let's get one thing straight-"
"I'm not" his brown eyes sparkled with merriment.
"Excuse me?" Mason was convinced there was something wrong with this man. He couldn't shut up for one minute at a time.
"I'm not straight. I thought you'd like to know."
His smirk was dangerously attractive, but Mason made sure not to let his admiration show.
"Well, I gathered that when you asked me out."
"Oh yeah! Well, will you go with me?"
"Listen, you don't know me! You don't know anything about me! Believe me, if you did, you wouldn't be asking me out."
"What if I said I'm up for the challenge?"
"What If I said I really don't give a damn?"
Mason is hard pressed trying to support his siblings and pay off his parents debts. At this point, John was just a distraction. And besides, Mason was convinced love wasn't for him, not after what everything he'd been through.
