Starry Night (Rise of the Guardians)
"Star light, star bright, The first star I see tonight; I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight."
Astraea's mother used to sing her songs of the stars when her Papa wasn't home to yell and hit. She used to tell her that stars were always there to wish upon, so long as she kept her intentions pure.
But not all wishes come true, and people sometimes get hurt and we have to make sacrifices to protect those we love.
There was fire and there was blood on the night Astraea died and the Man in the Moon broke through the shadows. He gave her a purpose and the power to fulfill that purpose.
Nightmares are plaguing the nights of children and darkness is approaching in the form of fear and doubt and corruption. The stars are going out.
Astraea stayed out of the first battle. Pitch Black had stayed away from her stars and the wishes of children. Only now she must work against Pitch, and join forces with the Guardians.
Only innocence can be shattered by temptation, and it is all around Astraea in this strange world of fighting, power and emotion.
There is only so much the Evening Star can do to fight off the darkness threatening her world and the children that make it up.
