"Small town girl gets the chance of a lifetime to go become a Hollywood actress." It sounds like a happy story, right? Yeah, I thought so too, but then I met someone who turned my entire life around without either of us knowing. He blindsided me. He broke the protective shield I guarded myself with, and then he broke everything it held. But he didn't mean to, and that's why this is such a sad story.
I didn't tell him he held my heart, hell I didn't even tell myself for the longest time. It's a lot harder to forget someone when they're such a reoccurring force in your life, but maybe that's the point. Maybe there's a method to the universe's madness. Can I find it when the cameras are off, and everything I say is unscripted?
"Can I help you?" I query as he sits down. He shakes his head 'no,' before removing the black tinted sunglasses. The boy's emerald eyes reveal, looking at mine. "Good to know because I'm not the helpful type. May I ask why you're sitting with me, a stranger?"
"This is the only empty seat I saw," he replies quite smugly, hiding his amusement. Glancing around to see every other chair empty, I kink a brow. "I'm Lucas," introducing himself, he shows his teeth in a grin that would make most girls go weak in the knees. I'm not most girls.
"Yeah, you look like a 'Lucas."
