Maya felt jealous ever since she saw Riley and Lucas that night, but she kept it in. She never told Riley this, she never wanted to. They were still friends, and she wanted it to stay normal. But everything changed after she, Riley, Lucas, Izaiah, and Farkle went to Texas. Lucas knew Maya had feelings for him, but Maya was still unsure for his feelings for her. She was so confused, and it didn't help that Lucas announced to Riley they were no longer 'brother and sister'. One day, sitting at the bay window, Maya told Riley everything. How she truly felt about Lucas, how long she's felt like that, and how she wanted to be a normal couple with him. Instead of getting the advice she wanted, she heard something she never expected to come out of her best friend's mouth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Stay away from Lucas then." Riley said. "W-what?" Maya asked, confused of her friends words. "Stay away from Lucas, don't talk to him, don't go near him, and don't even look at him." Riley stated with no emotion. "Riley, why are you acting this way?" Maya asked, becoming concerned of her friend's feelings. "Lucas doesn't want to be my brother anymore, and he doesn't want me to be his sister. So I'll be what he wanted us to be before. I'll be the best girlfriend I can be. And if you can't understand that, I guess this means war." Riley said. Her hands gripped Maya's shoulders and pushed her out the open window. That was only the beginning of the war.
