Adelaide has left "the Enduring Land" and crossed back over the lightbridge to Earth, but it's not quite the Earth she remembers. Meanwhile, revolution is brewing in Ozghard, and it may fall on her and Ada to put things right before it's too late.

This is a continuation of Book 1, which is also available on Wattpad (http://w.tt/1ph49AM). It blends elements of The Emerald City of Oz, Through the Looking-Glass, and the Cthulhu Mythos into a mind-bending tale reminiscent of Philip K. Dick. Similar novels include The Wee Free Men (Terry Pratchett), The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (Catherynne M. Valente), The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman), and Howl's Moving Castle (Diana Wynne Jones).

I meant to get into this much sooner following the first book. ^^; I'll have to refamiliarize myself with some of the characters, but otherwise, I think this was a good opening chapter. :) I'll definitely be continuing down the rabbithole. ;)

Anybody know which Oz book I'm referencing here? It starts in a very similar manner.

I'm not sure whether to feel pity for the gnome king or think him pathetic.
