Matt & Topher
Matt Winchester is about as good a best friend as anyone - Topher Stanton included - could ask for. He looked past the Stanton billions and simply saw Topher. So it's no big deal when Topher comes out as bisexual during their fall semester senior year.
Except it throws Matt's already muddy perspective on his own sexual preferences into a tailspin. Losing Topher because he can't decide what he wants isn't an option, so he sucks it up and buries all of it - along with himself - in the proverbial closet.
While Topher might be emotionally conflicted on where his best friend stands in his life, he's not an idiot. He can see Matt's frayed edges and knows something has to give except he's had too many important people walk out on him to lose Matt the same way. With all the tension, sexual and otherwise, running high in their apartment, it'll be a miracle if they make it to Christmas, let alone graduation.
(Author's Note: I'm in the process of rewriting Two for the Rent [hence the new title]. Hopefully you'll like this new and improved version as much or more than the first. Thank you all so much for your support, comments, and votes. I deeply appreciate it.)
