The Mute Alpha
"I can't go on like this anymore, Jaxton," her voice quivered as she tried to make her voice steady but failed. "You don't act like you want me, but whenever I try to leave you just drag me back." Her eyes held my gaze. A raindrop rolled down her lower lip. "It's not fair."
The rain started pouring even harder, making it difficult to see anything but my mate in front of me. The towering trees didn't help protect us from the water, but at this moment I didn't care. Thunder rumbled off in the distance and the dark sky lit up with lightning.
"If you don't want me, why keep me around?" she asked. I growled in anger. That was enough to make me move towards her, determined to show her that she was completely wrong about the way I feel about her. Her eyes widened as she took a step away, but not far enough. My hands shot out and cupped her face, bringing her closer to me.
I don't know what happened next it just happened without me even thinking. My mouth parted as I leaned my forehead against her's, our lips only inches apart. "Mine," I growled lowly, only audible for the both of us to hear.
Not being able to speak is difficult, especially for an Alpha with a large pack. Alpha Jaxton is the Alpha of the Solar Eclipse Pack. After a tragic incident that happened to him when he was a pup, he hasn't spoken. Only through mind-links with his Beta has he been able to communicate.
One night at a gathering of all of the East Coast packs he discovers his mate, but there is a problem. He can't speak to her. Not knowing her name or what pack she's from, he tries to find her with the help of his Beta.
