A Doctor's Heart
"Can you feel that?" I asked, softly, when I put his cold hand over my chest. "Hangga't sa'yo tumitibok 'yan, kahit kailan, hindi mo ako makukumbinsing mali ito. As long as it is in the right place, I will not be misguided."
Naging triple ang pagtibok ng puso ko nang mag-angat siya ng tingin at salubungin ako ng itim na itim niyang mga mata. My throat went dry when he spoke in his thick, baritone voice. "And where is the right place, Lui?"
I smiled, knowing how well I just knew what the perfect answer is, "here. Beside you is the right place."
She knew all of him that others do not. She knew of his fears and pains like an artist knows its art. She knew and took amusement on his spontaneous sarcasm that she had the privelege to experience.
She knew all of him and yet she cannot have him.
