"You should probably wear something that actually covers you up before you go." She calls out to me.
"Oh please, you've seen me naked more times than I can count. Why are you telling me that now?"
"Athena, I'm serious!"
I look back at her and roll my eyes, continuing my way out of her room.
"Deal with my behind, just like you always have."
I enter the living room and stop dead in my tracks when I see someone sitting down on the couch, watching tv.
"Intruder!" Is the first thing I yell as I run to the kitchen to grab a knife. "I'm armed, stay away!"
I hold out the knife in front of me and watch as he stands up, my eyes widening when I see who it is.
"L-Landon? I-I wasn't aware that you were back."
He looks me over and I watch as his face becomes red, while he loosens the collar of his shirt. "I, uh, just arrived this morning. I heard about your parents and, um, my brother-like instincts kicked in and I came to be here for you."
My eyes trail down to his left hand and onto the wedding band securely around his ring finger, feeling sadness engulf me as I look down.
That's when I notice the way I'm dressed, and I instantly redden as I pull down my crop top as far as I possibly can, grinning awkwardly towards him.
He looks down at my chest and tugs at his collar even more, clearing his throat.
"I can see your bra now..."
