I Promise, I Swear
"I can't promise that things won't be broken, but I swear that I'll never leave."
"The difference between promises and memories is that we break promises, whereas memories, they break us."
A promise is an extremely bold statement of strong declaration. It's like a word of honour, a hundred percent guarantee or assurance, an oath that said thing will happen. It's something that many people make but few people keep. It occurs every day in our lives.
This, for instance, was one of them.
This is a story about a guy named Arden Flinskey, and a girl named Katie Jons. Two messed up kids. And if that makes you curious, do carry on.
Both Arden and Katie do have differences. One of them being their past. Their background.
However, they do have some things in common. They are both messed up in the head. They don't know where they want to go in life. And neither knows what they are doing. But one of the things that is in common, so intriguing that it drew them both, is their lives.
They both live on promises.
Promises they wish to keep. Promises they want to fulfill.
But what if they are stuck in a situation where they find themselves hardly able to cope with keeping to their word? After all, promises are meant to be broken, right? I don't know.
Well, it is in this story that you'll see how magic unfolds through words, when the two of them meet, and even as they struggle to keep what they once said they'll never, ever break.
I believe, humans are fragile pieces made up of broken hearts and some broken promises.
A/N: This book might not be at it's best, as it's my first time attempting to write one. I mean, I've written short stories before, but yeah. Not a whole book. But I'll try to edit it. Please give it a chance, if you're kind enough! Thank you! :)
