Sacrifice is a tale of intrigue during the political and religious instability of tenth century Persia. During a time when various religions vied for control of one small strip of land, a small sect of Islam branched out on its own. The creation of a clandestine and mythical sect of Ismaili missionaries, their charismatic master Hassan-Ibn-Sabbah, set up a group who became known as the most feared killers in the known world.

This re-creation of Hassan Ibn Sabbah’s early power struggle against the overwhelming Armies of the Seljuk Turks, and even his own Muslim brothers who branded him as a heretic, tells of the rise of a new breed of warrior that became known across Europe as the Assassin. But during his attempts to control the Middle East and the religious power struggle between Shi’a and Sunni Muslim, two young novices training to be Fida’i, or Assassins, discover what it really means to be loyal until death.
