Rhianna was a free spirit on the road with her mother, until something changed. Something that left her abandoned on a farm in the middle of nowhere, with a stranger she is supposed to call Grandmother.

Grounded.

Now Rhianna has to adapt to life on the farm, where things aren't quite so free. There are new rules, secrets, dark places she isn't supposed to go. Magical things are happening. Things that terrify Rhianna. Before Rhianna came along, her mother spent time in a mental hospital. Is this what is happening to Rhianna? Did she inherit crazy?

Or is magic real?

I like it! There were just a few technical errors; it should be "its surface," not "it's surface" (the second-to-last-paragraph) because 'its' is possessive. But I really enjoyed the interaction between Rhianna's mom and Pippa. I'm curious to learn what that was all about.

I'm confused as to why we didn't get to hear the answer to her question about why her mom called her Pippa. Did she not answer? Did you leave us out of the conversation?

I'm so happy your starting a new story! I'm already liking this grandmother of hers.

This is a good beginning. I grinned when she asked her about being a horse goddess. Somehow I suspect that if Rhianna ever gets questioned about who she was named for, it is rarely that. :D

What sort of dark fantasy are you going for here? Young adult? Adult?
