Sixteen-year-old Carter Lawson’s life was a disappointment--her parents thought. In their eyes, she partied every night and was involved with drugs. They believed that she was failing her classes and had no hopes of even reaching half of her older brother Nick's level.
In reality, she was a simple girl. Her evenings were filled with studying, kickboxing classes, and horseback riding. She only wanted to see her family happy again.
But after Nick left for college, her parents' arguments worsened to the point of Carter's plain annoyance. Bickers of how Nick was perfection and Carter was disappointment filled her ears every night.
To her excitement, her in-the-closet riding name is brought into the spotlight as she is given opportunities to freely ride horses. In a spur of the moment, Carter is sent to her family friend's farm.
There, she meets a pair of twins, Caleb and Casey. Initially, there was no love shared between the three of them. But when a horse is stolen from the farm, they are forced to work past their dissimilarities in order to bring Blaze's beloved horse back home.
