A story of the progression of friendship from child to adulthood.
Iris Templar is seven when she first meets twenty-one-year-old Christian Hudson and the pair strikes up an unlikely friendship.
The Templar family have just moved into a new area. One day Iris's older brother is badly injured after being hit by a car.
Her mother wants to go with her son to the hospital, but her husband is a long distance lorry driver and is away God only knows where.
Having no family in the area, her mother has no choice but to ask a neighbor to watch her daughter.
Knowing Christian was training to become a doctor she felt that she would be the most trustworthy.
That is how the seven-year-old and twenty-one-year-old became unlikely friends.
Hearing his son was alright, her father only returned home for one day here and there over the next several months.
But when he finally comes to stay longer and finds out about is a daughter and the older man he immediately jumps to the wrong conclusion.
"The only reason a man his age would let a little girl hang around him is for one thing!" He yelled and banned the pair from seeing each other.
The man respected her father's wishes.
But both he and Iris's mother told the father in no uncertain terms nothing was going on and she was simply like a little sister or daughter to the man, who enjoyed the company having no siblings of his own.
Iris, on the other hand, would often cry when her father refused her wishes.
Skip fifteen years later and the pair meet again.
Will they reconnect and renew their friendship or will something else happen?
Read to find out.
