Jaden has disappeared, leaving only an enigmatic note to guide Morane. The instructions: Go to Port Maenar, the birthplace of the revolution, to find his "friend"-- a man famous in seven countries for killing without mercy.

Here, in a city riddled with tunnels, spies, and thieves' dens, she will come face to face with Wes, Jaden's one-time student. Here she will once again question her loyalties, choose her allies, and dare to fight as she uncovers the truth behind the rebels's prophecy.

But she cannot outrun the secrets. The rebels, the ambassador, the Sage, even Luca are looking for her-- but one of them has betrayed her. Who can she trust in a city of liars?

As the Guardian Cycle continues, only one thing is certain: nothing is as it seems.

Has she gone to find Wes?
This is like 2 years late but I've only just found this book and I'm love with the writing style

He's ALIVE. He is. And if he's not you need a miror or a fountain or a whatever magic that will being him back. What do you mean, no? It's not part of the plot??? Well if he's dead it clearly SHOULD be part of the plot. End of the debate.

The change to third person makes it more edgy to me, and that seems like what you're going for with the book. It works well with the sense of urgency.
Looks like you're going with third person omniscient too, which adds to the edginess and opens up more possibilities for what you can reveal.

It must be ISO who killed him or at least dragged him away to torture him or something else equally sick!! Cause u know he had the red wine glass and there was that tradition thing right but he never presented it to her he just raised it! Is that the same thing? Maybe it could be a coincidence! 0-0

I actually like it in third person it gives more perspective and it's a nice Change even though I'll miss Morane's awesomely sarcastic thoughts I think this could work :)
