In a distant land of ethereal beauty and forgotten tales, Merral, the daughter of a cheated baron, seeks retribution for the crimes of the oppressive Ascendancy and its Empress. A diverse group of outcasts accompanies Merral out of the wilderness with a scheme to topple the regime from the inside. The true colors of humanity are revealed during their journey through encounters with the Empress and her loyalists. Only time can tell who will prevail in this tale of ancient heroism, clashing cultures, unlikely allies, and the resurfacing of forbidden entities thought to be long confined to legend. The only absolute certainty is turmoil.

This is so unfortunate. There's already that one extremely unlucky person this short into the story. He should get his own biography for compensation.

so I said I'd be here and here at last I am! Loved this as opening into the story :)

Well written with vivid description, reminds me of Tolkien's works.

This is very good! Love the start to your story. I admire the language you made up, it was very cool! The way you started the story was great because you added background information plus an unforgivable action scene! Nicely laid out so far. I cannot wait to read more!

This is a very good introduction to a what seems to be a complicated fantasy story.

I think the scribe should spontaneously combust in the next chapter.
