Sniffs, "I'm fine."
"See you later honey," mommy calls out to me. She's about to leave and instinctively, I run after her. I wrap my arms around her to feel her warmth one more time.
"I'll miss you," I croak.
Mom stares at me thoughtfully, "I'll be back soon. Are you sure you'll be alright on your own?"
I smile to assure her.
"Want me to get you something?" She ask and she is met with a no.
She turns her back and leaves after throwing me a concerned glare for the thousandth time.
Her mom is back, but she's gone. Left only a note for mommy.
"I was bullied," the note said.
The other thing she left behind, was her body, dangling from her bathroom door as her moms scream filled the hood.
This is an anthology of everything I felt and gone through. Some, the people my work made me meet. I ask myself one question everyday, "Why didn't I do it?"
Years later, I realized that I would have made the world lose another amazing person.
