Avery has always been a good kid with messy powers in a society that sorts people by strength and ambition. When he finally earns a spot at Crownwright Academy which is the hero school for the strongest and most cunning and he expects challenges. What he doesn't expect is a system that tolerates violence, corruption lurking behind every exam, and classmates who might be as dangerous as the enemies outside the walls.

Between grueling tests, moral dilemmas, and childhood rivals resurfacing, Avery must navigate a world where being "good" isn't always enough and surviving the academy might be harder than saving anyone else.
